Registered Apprenticeship Program
Start your career and your college course work
The PLUS Company’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Apprenticeship Program allows you to start your career and your coursework as soon as you qualify.
- Apprentices will be employees of The PLUS Company during the year-long program
- Starting wage is $17/hour with pay increases as you progress through the program
- Hours may be flexible and will average 40/hours per week
- Tasks will include assisting individuals with disabilities to learn skills that will lead them to become more independent in the community under the guidance of a mentor
The program includes 4 Community College System of NH courses
- Courses include Intro to Human Services, Intro to Psychology, Learning and Behavior, and Supportive Communication and can be taken at Nashua Community College
- Classes will be paid for through federal funds, but you will be responsible for the cost of textbooks
Additional job-specific training will be provided by The PLUS Company
- Courses include Medication Administration, CPR and First Aid, and Safety Care
- This is a Registered Apprenticeship through the US Department of Labor. Those who complete the program will receive a nationally recognized, portable credential.
